General Questions
When you become a customer by ordering one of our recurring boxes, you first order the size of box and frequency (weekly or fortnightly) that suits you. We collate this and talk to our local farmers about what crops are available.
We then decide what is going into the box for the week and order the veg in bulk from the farms. We pick it all up on Tuesday, and pack it overnight into your boxes. These are then delivered on Wednesday - Friday depending on where you live. We publish on this site on Tuesday what is in each box.
You can specify box exclusions in your account and we will substitute in an alternative.
We bill your card on Sunday for the following week's delivery.
No. We use some Organic producers but the vast majority are smaller growers who use no or very little artificial fertilisers or insecticides.
You will find the odd weed or little traveller in your produce which we think is a small price to pay for a living soil!
All of our veg comes from suppliers in Kent. We use small market gardeners and producers; just the sort of people you will see at a Farmer's Market. Some of our suppliers are organic, but the main suppliers are not. Having said that, our producers do not use expensive chemicals on their crops in the main, and we have to be honest and say that you may well find the odd little traveller in your veg or signs of something having the odd bite. This just proves the veg is not grown in chemically sterilised land.
Our fruit comes from Kent where we can, but comes from an organic supplier if not. As you know fruit does not grow all year in Kent - oh for orange groves - so we have to supplement it with citrus fruit etc during the months of absence.
Our meat all comes from Kent and is free-range. It is all butchered on site and the farms use a small local abattoir. The beef is hung for 3 weeks before butchering so it is a tender as it comes. The animals are outdoor as much as possible. The farms do not use spectrum antibiotics at all.
The fish comes from Dungeness and comes direct from small boats operating by Hastings/Dungeness/Rye and is delivered fresh, not frozen.

We'll leave the box in a shady spot if you are not in, and cover it if it rains.
Payments are taken on Sundays, prior to your delivery. You enter your payment details once, and we charge prior to your scheduled delivery. From our online customer portal, you can skip, pause cancel or add to your box at anytime. If at anytime you feel like we just aren't the right fit - you can cancel immediately through the portal above. There are no ties or contract.
No problem. You can specify up to 3 box exclusions and we'll substitute other veg in if they are in your box. You can update these each week within your account. You really should like beet though, shame on you.....
We would recommend trying all the veg though first. The taste difference of our produce to the veg supplied in the supermarkets is really unbelievable. Many of our customers have been converted back onto sprouts and cabbage having sworn they would die if they ate it again.... go on we dare you!
We thought you'd never ask! We offer milk, eggs and bread and many other items as extras in our boxes. You can order via the store above.
They are all from Kent farms/producers.
The eggs and milk are free-range of course.
Managing Your Box
Click here for our online customer portal. From here, you can skip, pause, cancel or add to your box at anytime. If at anytime you feel like we just aren't the right fit - you can cancel immediately in your account.
To add a product to your recurring order, find the product in one of the product pages.
Please note some products cannot be ordered on a recurring basis just yet - we are working on ensuring all products are available for recurring orders.
Once you have selected frequency of order, click ‘add to my box’ and it will be added to your current box. If you have multiple boxes, you will be asked which one you would like to add it too.
If you click ‘add to basket’ you will be asked to pay and the system will create a new subscription. This means you'll have to enter your payment details in again, rather than clicking the 'Add to Box' where the system already has your card details securely stored.
Veg and Fruit boxes are only available for subscription, we do not offer one-time purchases for those. This is because these are our core products and your commitment is what sustains our business and allows us to commit to our local suppliers around Kent.
If you wish to cancel one or all or subscriptions please login to your account.
