Royalty is in the House! The Reign of Asparagus has Started
Here comes the majestic Asparagus! Just like Beaujolais Nouveau for wine buffs, us foodies eagerly anticipate the arrival of this mighty spear as a sign that the new growth of Spring is truly here.
We source our Asparagus from Peter Tickle (yes Mr Tickle...) who runs his mixed veg farm near Cliffe in Kent. He crops for us every Tuesday morning. We have the wonderful stems back in our fridge by lunchtime, after travelling only 17 Food Miles.
As we take anything fresh & Kentish- we do not care about size/shape/colour etc - we get a great price from Peter, about 1/3 less than other suppliers. We, of course, pass this on to you.
