APR24 - CANTERBURY ALES BREWERY
Canterbury Ales, or Canterbrew as they are known locally and in the trade, brew ales that are carefully crafted from the finest malted barley and whole hops available.
Canterbury Ales, who name their beers after characters from the Canterbury Tales, offer a collection of cask conditioned ales - all brewed just a few miles from the Bake & Alehouse on the outskirts of Canterbury in Kent.
The Taster box will contain 3 of the following beers, the Session box will contain 6. All 500ml.
The Merchant’s Ale 4.1% black
**Overall Champion Beer** SIBA South East Region 2014
A smooth, mild black stout, hints of roast malt, gentle hop notes and a clean fruity finish.
The Pardoner’s Ale 3.9% pale
A light pale ale, honey notes giving way to spicy, orange & citrus hops.
Described in Andy Hamilton’s 2013 book “Brewing Britain: The Quest For The Perfect Pint” as “A good example of the classic Golden Ale”
The Wife of Bath’s Ale 4% gold
An American style crisp, spicy golden bitter with grapefruit and citrus hops and a long dry finish.
The Friar’s Ale IPA 4.4%
An intensely hoppy IPA using all Kent hops. Jester & EKG Hops give a hoppy, fruity IPA with a good smack of bitterness. A true IPA.
The Reeve’s Ale 4.2% copper
A tawny copper bitter with nutty malts and berry fruit hops.
The Miller’s Ale 4.3% red
A rich red best bitter with toffee malts, rich fruity hops and a very smooth hoppy finish.
The Knight’s Ale 4.7% dark ruby
A dark red, malty premium best bitter with earthy hops and a smooth, lingering malty finish.
