Pink Fir Apple potatoes are an old French heritage fingerling variety dating back to the mid-19th century. With a light pink skin and firm creamy flesh they can have quite a knobbly appearance. Their waxy texture makes them a delicious salad potato with a nutty, earthy flavour. Try them boiled or steamed, hot or cold. You can also roast or wedge this variety or, if you have the patience to peel them, they make a lovely mash.

Charlotte potatoes are classic salad potatoes and widely available across all major retailers. With a creamy skin and light yellow flesh, they are relatively small potatoes. Charlotte potatoes have a fresh flavoured which tastes great either hot or cold.

Blue Anneliese Bred from Violetta, Blue Anneliese has a similar deep purple, fluffy flesh and a sweet, delicate flavour. Delicious boiled or steamed they can be used to brighten up a salad or try them mashed for something different. For the most vibrant results it’s best to cook them with their skins on to retain their colour.

Being one of our colourful varieties they are rich in antioxidants, particularly anthocyanin which lays claim to a variety of health benefits including improved cardiovascular health, dementia prevention and increased longevity. As well as the fact that potatoes are very low in sugar and salt and are gluten- and fat-free this variety is definitely one to try if you are looking for a healthy meal option.
